Wow, you guys have a forum now. Moving up in the world, huh?

I just did a search for the website to see what was going on since I couldn't locate the card with the address. I wish I'd known there was a meeting yesterday, I would have attended.

I understand that some nice kids I sold a bunch of Jeeps and Jeep parts to are new members here and have passed on the information to you that Peter passed away September 19, 2009. http://petepowell.blogspot.com/2009/09/ ... 92009.html It was tough. It still is, but I focus on the good as much as possible.

I would still like to join. We never did get to do this. I'd still like to ride with you if you'll have the likes of me.

I am planning my first solo ride with our earlycj5.com group to Shoe Creek the end of Feb. I took a hike up to the private place where I have the CJ7 and Pete's Dodge truck stashed and where we privately wheel and camp a week ago. There is too much snow to get up there and the M-151 has fuel problems and I can't get it running right so walking is my only choice. All the 4 x 4's are up there.

The CJ7 is covered in mildew from the woods so I'm going to have to give it a good scrubbing. We generally do that with Comet and steel wool even though I know that sounds terrible. It works. One of the old winter treads is flat, but I have spares up there. I have the battery here, though could use the battery out of his truck possibly.

So, at some point in the next two weeks I need to get up there somehow and bring the Jeep down and get it ready and start driving it daily again before this run.

Hope to see ya'll soon. I need to get out more and need this trail ride very much. The last time we took this ride was in the M-151 and there was an ice storm the night before. Made for a once in a lifetime experience that will never be forgotten.

Wouldn't you know that's the weekend of the earlycj5.com trail ride to Shoe Creek!

If we don't stop having this wet weather, I may need a ride with a jack and a battery up a trail to get the CJ7. You think your Jeep can make it? May need a locker. The 7 won't climb the one bad part that gets slick. If you can make it, then the rest is a piece of cake.

I'd like you to see the place we wanted to invite you anyhow.

Let's keep in touch.

Beth

Some time in the first two weeks of Feb so I have time to clean it and put new tires on it as well as drive it around locally before the trip.

I did go up there last week before the recent snow and get Pete's Dodge 4 x4 truck. I normally have it here at the house, but the City got onto us while we were at the hospital for expired inspection. Inspection has never been a problem and it simply ran out because we were gone so long to Little Rock. But now, the floors have gotten bad enough that they will need to be fixed before I can get it inspected.

Still, even though I am working and eBaying from home, I wanted to have the truck available.

I should be able to get back up there now with it, though am not sure about with snow and such on the trail as it does only have street tires.

I need to change one tire and put a battery in the CJ. It will start right up though will need a blast of starting fluid or gas perhaps as we need to put a manual choke on it. After removing the crap off it to put the headers on it's now missing that one item, though generally isn't a problem.

I went up there last weekend and the snow was deeper than the last time. Hiked a ways to check on the Commanche truck that I had to leave when I brought the 4WD Dodge down from there.

Hopefully with this melting, it will be better. Will be slimy though and the one part of the trail is tough to make.

I plan to come to the meeting now after all and will give you a call. I'm not familiar with where we are to meet, but I'll be there.

Thanks!
